Club Rules

The North London Rifle Club has a set of rules to ensure fair play, safety, and a level playing field for all members – setting standards for conduct, equipment handling, and club administration – ultimately designed to create an organised, equitable, and enjoyable experience for members and guests.

Key House Rules

All Members are permitted to attend and speak at General Meetings.

No Member may vote by proxy at any General or Committee meeting.

Each Member of the Club is required to furnish their contact address, contact telephone number and email address where available to the Honorary Secretary and to advise of any change (as required by Home Office Rules).

Any Member is welcome to introduce visitors who will be considered to be their guest and are not to remain on the Club premises after their host Member has left.

Members must before leaving pay all charges due to the Club, whether on account of their visitors or themselves.

No Member is to give the address of the Club in any advertisement or use the Club address for business purposes.

No Member is to reprimand any Club staff but should refer the matter to the Honorary Secretary or the Chairman of the Committee.

Dress Code

Daytime: There is no specific dress code, with the generally accepted Bisley range-wear the norm.  Note that caps/hats should not be worn within the clubhouse.

Evenings: (typically after 19:00): A modern interpretation of Smart Casual applies, with jeans, shorts and t-shirts to be avoided, but Jackets/Dresses not absolutely required.

Certain events may require a special dress code that will be announced and may require club, regional or national dress code and honours to be worn (e.g. Dinner with Overseas Clubs in July).

Firearms in the Clubhouse

Members and their Guests may not bring firearms into the main clubhouse or onto the veranda, other than as authorised in advance for a particular reason by a member of the club’s Executive.

All firearms must be taken into the Armoury / gunroom via the secured and alarmed side entrance.
